Missy Elliott and Keri Hilson have both made public statements, denying a rumor that they were previously involved in a lesbian relationship.Earlier this week, infamous gossip site MediaTakeOut, posted a rumor that the pair were involved in an intimate relationship during Keri’s first years in the biz, after the two met years ago.
The site cites an unnamed “record industry insider,” who said the singer was “broken up” when their relationship ended.
“Missy [and Keri] started off as friends, but Missy was really seducing her. Keri ended up [infatuated] with Missy, she may have even been in love,” the insider told the website.
Hilson was the first to rebuke the reports, responding in a Twitter message, claiming her and Missy were more like acquaintances than even a friend.
“Lies,” she tweeted (@MissKeriBaby). “How do those ppl sleep at night? I love and respect Missy and her work, but we’ve never worked [together] and I’ve probably seen her five times in my life!”
Missy later responded to Hilson, also claiming that the report was a complete lie.
“Girl, it amazes me how we never worked together, and barely know each other, but they make up a full out lie,” Elliott wrote (@MissyElliott).
In response to Missy, Hilson poked fun at the gossip, writing: “hose people are just as creative as we are! Hope they get paid well for it… don’t worry my lil suga-lips, the world will never understand the bond that we [NEVER] had…
